Air Force promoted assistant coach Jeff Reynolds to head coach. Reynolds has been assistant for Air Force for the past two seasons, and previously was an assistant at Tulane, and was head coach of D-II Wingate College and North Carolina Wesleyan.

April 4th
Head coach Jeff Bzdelik has accepted the head coaching position at Colorado. Bzdelik had a 50-16 record in two seasons for the Falcons, including an NCAA appearance last year, and an NIT Final Four appearance last week.

Stan Heath John Pelphrey
April 9th
Southern Alabama head coach John Pelphrey was named head coach. Pelphrey was 80-67 the past five seasons for the Jaguars, including a 44-19 record the last two seasons and a 2006 trip to the NCAA Tournament. No stranger to the SEC, Pelphrey played for Kentucky under Eddie Sutton and Rick Pitino and was previously an assistant at Florida, Oklahoma State and Marshall.

April 3rd
New Arkansas head coach Dana Altman rescinded his appointment as head coach and returned to Creighton. Altman has a 260-141 record at Creighton. According to ESPN, Arkansas officials have also been turned down by Billy Gillespie (Texas A&M), Bill Self (Kansas), Tim Floyd (USC), John Calipari (Memphis) and Tom Crean (Marquette).

April 2nd
Creighton head coach Dana Altman was hired as head coach. Altman has a 343-208 record in 18 seasons as a head coach and has led Creighton to seven NCAA Tournament berths. Previously he was head coach at Marshall and Kansas State.

March 26th
Head coach Stan Heath was fired following an opening-round loss in the NCAA tournament for the second-straight season. Heath led the Razorbacks to a 21-14 record this season and was 82-71 in five seasons, but was 31-49 in SEC play.

Ronny Thompson Billy Taylor
August 8th
Lehigh head coach Billy Taylor accepted the head coaching position. Taylor, a Notre Dame alum, played for the Irish from 1991-95 had an 81-69 record in five seasons at Lehigh, 12-19 overall last season, including that Patriot League championship in 2004. Taylor was hired over candidates South Florida assistant Dan Hipsher, former St. Louis head man Brad Soderberg and Texas Tech assistant Stew Robinson.

July 12th
Head coach Ronny Thompson resigned after just one season in Muncie. Thompson, son of Hall-of-Fame coach John Thompson, and brother of Georgetown head coach John Thompson III, had a 9-22 overall record last season, 5-11 in Mid-American Conference play. Speculation regarding Thompson's future had prompted Ball State AD Tom Collins to pronounce Thompson's status as secure on Monday, according to ESPN. Collins' announcement was following alleged secondary violations from the NCAA for being present at voluntary offseason workouts for the second time. Complicating matters was an alleged break-in at the team's basketball offices where letters with racial slurs were left, according to the Muncie Star-Press.

Georgetown assistant Kevin Broadus was hired as head coach. This is Broadus' first head coaching postion. He has been an assistant for the Hoyas for three seasons, and also assisted at George Washington, American, and Bowie State, his alma mater.

March 5th
Head coach Al Walker has relinquished his head coaching duties, and will be reassigned within the BU athletic department. Walker had a 13-16 record this season, and he compiled a 92-108 record in seven seasons, including all six of BU's D-I campaigns.

Dan Dakich Luis Orr
April 4th
Former Seton Hall head coach Louis Orr was hired as head coach. Orr, who coached Seton Hall from 2001-06, has a 100-80 overall record in six seasons, including one season at the helm of Siena. Orr led the Pirates to two NCAA Tournaments and one NIT appearance, and was 2003 Big East coach of the year. A Syracuse grad, Orr played eight seasons in the NBA with the Pacers and Knicks.

March 13th
Head coach Dan Dakich resigned following a 13-18 record this season. Dakich, who has coached the Falcons for ten seasons, departs with a 156-140 record, including two NIT appearances and one Mid-American Conference regular season title in 2002 with 24 wins. Dakich was reprimanded in February for criticizing officials following a crucial call during overtime against Buffalo.

Buter promoted assistant coach Brad Stevens to the role of head coach. Stevens has been a Butler assistant for the past six seasons, under Lickliter as well as predecessor Thad Matta, now the head coach at Ohio State. Stevens was a four-year letterwinner and graduate of DePauw University (Greencastle, Indiana).

April 4th
Head coach Todd Lickliter resigned to accept the head coaching position at Iowa. In six seasons at Butler, Lickliter went 131-61 and led the Bulldogs to the Sweet Sixteen twice, and was the 2007 NABC D-I coach of the year following his 29-7 campaign.

Tulane assistant coach Benjy Taylor was hired as head coach. A Richmond grad, Taylor previously was associate head coach at Northern Illinois, and an assistant at Indiana State, Pepperdine, Cornell and The Citadel. This is his first D-I head coaching assignment, but he was head coach at nearby D-III North Central College from 2001-04.

March 13th
Head coach Kevin Jones was fired following a 9-20 season. Jones, who coached the Cougars for four seasons, amassed a 41-90 record during his tenure. Jones wasn't helped by the school's departure from the Mid-Con, the loss of four key players due to academics, or the whopping six home games this season.

Former Creighton and new Arkansas head coach Dana Altman rescinded his appointment as head coach and returned to the Blujays. Altman has a 260-141 record at Creighton. Former Clemson, Auburn and South Alabama head coach Cliff Ellis was named head coach. Ellis, a 30-year coaching veteran, has a career record of 534-337, including a 186-125 mark at Auburn, including a 29-4 season in 1999. Ellis also spent ten seasons at Clemson, going 177-128. His teams have eight NCAA Tournament appearances.

June 12th
Head coach Buzz Peterson resigned to accept an executive position with the NBA's Charlotee Bobcats. Peterson, who was teammates at North Carolina with Bobcats owner Michael Jordan, was named director of player personnel. Peterson was 35-25 in two seasons with the Chanticleers, and is 201-134 overall in eleven seasons as a head coach.

Air Force head coach Jeff Bzdelik was hired as head coach. Bzdelik had a 50-16 record in two seasons for the Falcons, including an NCAA appearance last year, and an NIT Final Four appearance last week. Bzdelik was also head coach of the NBA's Denver Nuggets for 2-1/2 seasons, leading them to the playoffs for the first time in a decade in 2004.

Head coach Ricardo Patton has announced his resignation, effective at the end of the season. Patton is 177-140 in ten seasons in Boulder, which featured three NCAA Tournament appearances and three NIT berths.

North Dakota State head coach Tim Miles accepted the head coaching positionfor the Rams. Miles led NDSU to a 20-8 record this past season, and he is 99-71 overall in six seasons, including the team's move to D-I, with wins over Marquette this season and Wisconsin in 2005.

March 12th
Head coach Dale Layer was fired following a 17-13 season, though the squad was 6-10 in Mountain West Conference play. Layer led the Rams to a 103-106 record in seven seasons, including a trip to the 2003 NCAA Tournament.

Terry Carroll Joe Scott
March 21st
Princeton head coach Joe Scott was hired as head coach. Scott was 38-45 for the Tigers in three seasons, and previously was 51-63 in four seasons as head coach at Air Force, including a 22-7 mark and a Mountain West coach of the year award in 2004. The school also announced that interim head coach Kevin Reynolds will be retained as an assistant on Scott's coaching staff. Reynolds filled in for Terry Carroll following his personal leave of absence in December.

March 2nd
Denver officials have terminated the contract of head coach Terry Carroll. Carroll, who never returned from a leave of absence in December, was the architect of the Pioneer's 4-25 record this season. In six seasons, Carroll posted a 79-99 record and a 2005 Sun Belt regular season championship.

December 27th
Head coach Terry Carroll has taken a leave of absence to attend to a personal matter, according to the university. Assistant coach Kevin Reynolds will serve as interim head coach.

Following the retirement of his father, Drake assistant coach Keno Davis was promoted to head coach. This is the younger Davis' first head coaching assignment. Keno was an assistant for six seasons at Southeast Missouri State, and also was an asssistant under Tennessee head coach Bruce Pearl at Southern Indiana in the mid-1990's.

March 21st
Head coach Dr. Tom Davis announced his retirement following 32 years of coaching. Davis went 54-66 in four seasons as coach of the Bulldogs, and finished his career with a 598-355 overall record, including an 18-11 record in the NCAA Tournament. Davis' son Keno Davis will take over the program.

ECU associate head coach Mack McCarthy has been named acting head coach. McCarthy was previously head coach at Chattanooga and Virginia Commonwealth. McCarthy has compiled an overall record of 309-177, including eight 20-win campaigns and a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 1996 with Chattanooga. ECU assistant coach Chris Ferguson will fill McCarthy's role of associate head coach.

August 6th
Head coach Ricky Stokes was re-assigned within the athletic department. Stokes, who went 14-44 in two seasons at the helm of the Pirates, went 6-24 this past season, with three of those victories against D-II schools. Stokes, who went 46-69 in four seasons at Virginia Tech, will become the associate athletic director for basketball.

UNC Wilmington assistant coach Kirk Earlywine was named head coach. Earlywine, a Campbell grad, previously was an assistant at Weber State for seven seasons, and also has assistant coaching experience at Ball State, Utah, Central Michigan, and UW-Milwaukee. He also was head coach at D-II Pfeiffer University (Misenheimer, N.C.), going 21-8 and advancing to the NCAA Division II Championships.

May 31st
Head coach Mike Burns was fired as head coach. In three seasons as head coach, Burns was 38-49 overall, and 22-22 in the Big Sky Conference. Burns was previously an assistant at EWU under Ray Giacoletti.

Former Southern Illinois-Edwardsville head coach Marty Simmons was named head coach. Simmons, a former player at Indiana under Bobby Knight and at Evansville under former Aces coach Jim Crews. He then served two stints as an assistant with Evansville totalling 11 years. Simmons was inducted into the Evansville hall of fame in 1997.

March 4th
Head coach Steve Merfeld resigned following a 14-17 season and a first-round loss in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. Merfeld was coach of the Purple Aces for five seasons, tallying a record of 54-91.

Billy Donovan Billy Donovan
June 8th
Former head coach Billy Donovan rescinded his hiring for the Orlando Magic, and returned to Florida. Donovan returns to his previously-signed contract extension for six years and $21 million dollars.

May 31st
Head coach Billy Donovan accepted the head coaching position for the NBA's Orlando Magic. Donovan, who won the past two NCAA National Championships, leaves Florida with a 261-103 record in 11 seasons. Under his tenure, Florida has two titles, another championship game appearance (2000), two SEC titles, three SEC-East titles, and nine-straight 20-win seasons.

Georgia State assistant Eugene Harris has been named head coach. A Florida State alumn, Harris has been an assistant at Clemson, Auburn, and Alabama, and had been the top recruiting assistant at Georgia State on Rod Barnes' staff for one season.

August 14th
Head coach Mike Gillespie was fired following a suspension related to a May 25th arrest for allegedly stalking his former girlfriend. Gillespie, who led the Rattlers to a 21-14 record (12-6 MEAC) last sesason and an NCAA tournament berth. A DePaul alum who played under Ray Meyer in the mid-70's, Gillespie had a 80-94 record with two NCAA appearances in six seasons. He had been on paid leave since the May incident.

Oklahoma assistant and former Mississippi head coach Rod Barnes was hired as head coach. Barnes, who was fired from Mississippi following the 2005-06 season, went 141-109 in eight seasons, and was the 2001 Naismith Coach of the Year.

March 4th
Head coach Michael Perry was fired following an 11-20 season. In four years, Perry, an assistant under previous head coach Lefty Driesell, went 62-75 overall, including a 20-9 record his first season.

Frank Sullivan Tommy Amaker
April 11th
Former Michigan head coach Tommy Amaker has been named head coach. Amaker was 22-13 this season, and was 109-83 in six seasons, three of which featured NIT berths, including the 2004 NIT Championship, and three 20-win seasons.

March 5th
Harvard officials announced that the contract of head coach Frank Sullivan will not be renewed for next season following a 12-16 campaign. Sullivan, who coached the Crimson for the past 16 seasons, departs with a 178-245 record. Harvard last made the NCAA Tournament 61 seasons ago.

Hawaii associate head coach Bob Nash was promoted to head coach. Nash, a former NBA player with the Pistons and Kansas City Kings, has been an assistant with the program for the past 25 seasons. This is the first head coaching assignment for Nash, whose son Bobby is a forward on the squad.

December 29th
Head coach Riley Wallace announced his retirement following the end of the season. In 20 seasons at Hawaii, Wallace has a 334-267 record, including 15 winning seasons, and three trips each to the NIT and NCAA Tournament. He is a three-time WAC Coach of the Year winner.

Kansas assistant coach Tim Jankovich was hired as head coach. Jankovich, an assistant under Bil Self for four seasons (including one at Illinois), previously was head coach at North Texas, going 53-57 in four seasons, and was an assistant at Texas, Oklahoma State, and Colorado State. Additionally, he was an assistant under Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings, who previously had coached Illinois State.

March 5th
Head coach Porter Moser was fired following a 15-16 record this season. In four seasons, Moser had a 51-67 record, and was fired due to a "lack of progress," as the school was never higher than a 6-seed in teh Missouri Valley tournament during his tenure.

Creighton assistant coach Kevin McKenna was hired as head coach. McKenna, a nine-year assistant (and alum) for the Bluejays, is a former journeyman NBA and CBA player, and later coached in the CBA. This is his first head coaching assignment.

March 4th
Head coach Royce Waltman was fired following the Sycamore's sixth-straight losing season. Waltman was 134-164 in ten seasons in Terre Haute, including a 13-18 finish this season, and he is the only coach since the Larry Bird era to go to the NCAA Tournament (twice in 2000 and 2001).

Louisville assistant coach Kevin Willard was named head coach. Willard, one of Rick Pitino's top assistants, coached with Pitino at Louisville for the past six seasons, and also assisted him with the NBA's Boston Celtics for four seasons. This is his first head coaching assignment.

March 29th
Head coach Jeff Ruland was fired following a 2-28 season. In nine seasons at the helm of the Gaels, Ruland had a 139-135 overall record, with three Metro Atlantic titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Head coach Steve Alford resigned to accept the head coaching position at New Mexico. Alford was 152-106 in eight seasons at Iowa, including two Big Ten tournaments and three NCAA Tournament appearances. Previously he was head coach at Missouri State (the Southwest Missouri State).

Kansas State assistant coach Frank Martin has been promoted to head coach. This was Martin's first season in Manhattan, as he previously was an assistant at Cincinnati, Northeastern, and was a successful high school coach in Miami for 15 seasons.

Head coach Bob Huggins resigned to accept the head coaching position at his alma mater, West Virgina. In one season at Kansas State, Huggins went 23-12 (10-6 Big 12) with an NIT appearance.

Kentucky
Tubby Smith Billy Gillispie
April 6th
Texas A&M head coach Billie Gillispie was hired to replace Tubby Smith. Gillispie was 70-26 in three seasons with the Aggies, including a 27-7 record and 3-seed in the NCAA Tournament this season, and previously was head coach at UTEP. He also was an assistant to Kansas head coach Bill Self at Tulsa and Illinois.

March 22nd
Head coach Tubby Smith resigned to accept the head coaching position at Minnesota. In ten seasons at Kentucky, Smith led the Wildcats to a 263-83 record and a national championship in 1998. Kentucky was 22-12 this season, but had not been back to the Final Four since 1998.

Billy Taylor Brett Reed

Associate head coach Brett Reed was promoted to take over for former head coach Billy Taylor. Reed, an assistant at Lehigh under Taylor for the past five seasons, previously was the top assistant at High Point for two seasons, and was also on the coaching staff at UNC-Greensboro and Oakland University (pre-Division I). Officially at Lehigh, the position is known as the "Murray H. Goodman Head Men’s Basketball Coach" who reports to the "Lehigh Goodman Dean of Athletics."

August 8th
Head coach Billy Taylor accepted the head coaching position at Ball State. Taylor, a former Notre Dame player, led the Mountain Hawks to a 12-19 record last season, had an 81-69 record overall in five seasons, including that Patriot League championship in 2004. Under Taylor's watch, Lehigh decided to officially forfeit 13 games from the 2004-05 season because of an ineligible player.

Randy Dunton Ritchie McKay

Former New Mexico head coach Ritchie McKay was hired as head coach. McKay went 15-17 this season, and McKay led the Lobos to an 81-66 record in five seasons, with a 26-7 record in 2005 and an NCAA Tournament appearance. McKay was previously head coach at Portland State, Colorado State, and Oregon State.

March 2nd
Liberty officials announced that head coach Randy Dunton's contract would not be renewed for next season. Dunton, who finished 14-17 this season, leaves the Flames with a 66-85 record in six seasons, including a Big South championship in 2004.

Former Minnesota head coach Dan Monson was hired as head coach. Monson, fired by Minnesota in November, 118-106 in seven seasons for the Gophers, including one NCAA Tournament appearance and four NIT berths.

Long Beach State officials have announced that head coach Larry Reynolds will not have his contract renewed for next season. Reynolds, who let the 49ers to the NCAA Tournament this season with a 24-8 record, departs with a 63-83 record in five seasons.

Alabama-Birmingham associate head coach Kerry Rupp was hired as head coach. Rupp has been the top assistant for Mike Davis for the past three seasons, both at Indiana and UAB, and was previously a top assistant under Rick Majerus at Utah, including a stint as interim head coach during the Utes' NCAA Tournament run of 2004.

April 3rd
Louisiana Tech officials announced that the contract of head coach Keith Richard will not be renewed for next season. Richard leaves after nine seasons with a record of 150-117, and featured a 1999 Sun Belt Conference regular season title. The Bulldogs were 10-20 this season, and lost in the first round of the WAC Tournament.

Florida associate head coach Donnie Jones was hired as head coach. A West Virginia native, Jones was a graduate assistant and an assistant under Florida's Billy Donovan at Marshall from 1990-96, and then followed Donovan to Florida. This is his first head coaching assignment.

March 12th
Ron Jirsa was fired as head coach following a 13-19 season this year. Jirsa had a 43-74 record in four seasons, and previously was head coach at Georgia for two seasons succeeding Tubby Smith.

Meredith Smith has been named interim head coach for the entire 2007-08 season. According to the school, Smith, an UMES alum and top assistant for the past three seasons, will give the program stability while the school starts a national search for a head coach starting in January of 2008. Smith was a top high school coach in Baltimore for 24 seasons, winning three Maryland state championships.

March 14th
Head coach Larry Lessett has resigned from his position. Lessett, as Cal-State Northridge alum, tallied a 9-48 record in three seasons as head coach. Previously he was a head coach at Hiwassee College in Madisonville, Tennessee, and was an assistant at several stops, including his alma mater, and Loyola Marymount in D-I.

West Virginia head coach John Beilein was named head coach at Michigan. Beilein was 104-60 in four years at West Virginia, with an NIT Championship and two NCAA Tournament appearances. He previously was head coach at Richmond and Canisius.

March 18th
Head coach Tommy Amaker was fired following a second-round NIT loss to Florida State. Amaker was 22-13 this season, and was 109-83 in six seasons, three of which featured NIT berths, including the 2004 NIT Championship, and three 20-win seasons.

Kentucky head coach Tubby Smith accepted the head coaching position at Minnesota. Smith, who led Kentucky to the 1998 national championship, arrives with a 387-145 record in sixteen seasons, including ten at Kentucky, two at Georgia, and four at Tulsa.

November 30th
Head coach Dan Monson resigned effective immediately following a 2-5 start to the season. Monson had a 118-106 record in seven seasons, taking over the scandal-plagued program following the ouster of Clem Haskins. Assistant coach Jim Molinari will take over on an interim basis.

Iowa head coach Steve Alford was hired as head coach. Alford was 152-106 in eight seasons at Iowa, including two Big Ten tournaments and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Louisville assistant men's basketball coach Marvin Menzies was hired as head coach. This is the second head coaching assignment for Menzies, an assistant for the past two years under Rick Pitino, as he led Santa Monica College for one season in 1994-95. Menzies was previously an assistant at UNLV, USC, and San Diego State.

Head coach Reggie Theus accepted the head coaching position for the NBA's Sacramento Kings. Theus, who only coached the Aggies for two seasons, led them to a 41-23 overall record in his first college head coaching assignment. He was also an assistant to Rick Pitino at Louisville for two seasons, and was an NBA television analyst for nine seasons.

Cal assistant coach Joe Pasternack was named head coach. Pasternack, a New Orleans native, was an assistant at Cal for four seasons, and also was on Bobby Knight's Indiana coaching staff. This is the 30-year old's first head coaching assignment.

Head coach Buzz Williams resigned to take an assistant coaching position at Marquette. Williams went 14-17 (9-9 in the Sun Belt) in his only season as head coach. Previously, Williams was an assistant at Texas A&M, Colorado State, and Texas-Arlington.

Assistant coach Anthony Evans has been appointed interim head coach for the entire 2007-08 season. Evans, a St. Thomas Aquinas grad, has been a Spartan assistant for the past three seasons. A Brooklyn native, Evans previously coached at SUNY-Delhi, where he amassed a 62-8 record in three seasons.

March 28th
Head coach Dwight Freeman was reassigned within the athletic department, effective April 13th. Freeman, who led the Spartans to an 11-19 record (10-8 in the MEAC), leaves with an overall record of 63-83 in six seasons at Norfolk State. Freeman will now be the "interim associate vice president for advancement, foundation and corporate relations."

Assistant coach Saul Phillips was promoted to the head coaching position. Phillips has been an assistant under former Bison head coach Tim Miles for the past three seasons, and previously was on Bo Ryan's Wisconsin staff. This is his first head coaching assignment.

Head coach Tim Miles accepted the head coaching position at Colorado State. Miles led NDSU to a 99-71 record in six seasons, including the team's move to D-I, with wins over Marquette this season and Wisconsin in 2005.

Rob Judson Ricardo Patton

Former Colorado head coach Ricardo Patton accepted the head coaching position. Patton coached at Colorado for eleven seasons, and had an overall record of 184-160 and two NCAA Tournament appearances.

March 10th
Head coach Rob Judson was fired following a 7-23 season. Judson led the Huskies to a 74-101 record in six seasons, and tallied two 17-win seasons in 2002 and 2003, including a Mid-America Conference West Division title.

Joe Scott Sydney Johnson
April 21st
Georgetown assistant coach Sydney Johnson was named head coach. Johnson, a Princeton alum, was a three-time Tigers captain in the mid-90's and a two-time All-Ivy selection. After playing professionally in Europe for seven seasons, Johnson started his coaching career as an assistant to former Princeton head coach John Thompson III at Georgetown three seasons ago. This is his first head coaching assignment.

Head coach Joe Scott accepted the head coaching position at Denver. Scott, the former head coach at Air Force and a Princeton alum, was 38-45 for the Tigers in three seasons, but was hamstrung by Princeton's shift to end early admission, a move that hampered the recruiting process.

UConn associate head coach Tom Moore was named head coach of the Bobcats. Moore had been an assistant under Jim Calhoun for twelve seasons, including the two national championship seasons.

March 7th
Quinnipiac head coach Joe DeSantis was fired following a 14-15 season. DeSantis, who just completed his 11th season at Quinnipiac, departs with a 118-188 record, reaching the NEC Championship game in 2002, and leading the program into D-I competition.

Virginia Tech associate head coach Brad Greenberg was hired as head coach. This is the first head coaching assignment for Greenberg, the brother to current VT head coach Seth Greenberg, but he has NBA experience as an assistant on the Knicks and Lakers, and was GM of the 76ers in the mid-90's.

November 2nd
Head coach Byron Samuels announced he will be stepping down following the season for personal and professional reasons. In four previous seasons, Samuels has a 50-65 overall record.

Pitt assistant coach Mike Rice was named head coach. Rice previously was an assistant at Marquette, Niagara, Chicago State, St. Joseph's, and Fordham, his alma mater, where he was also a three-year letterwinner for the Rams. This is his first head coaching assignment.

Head coach Mark Schmidt has accepted the head coaching position at St. Bonaventure. Schmidt was 82-90 in six seasons at Robert Morris, with a 17-11 finish last year.

Head coach Anthony Solomon was fired following a 7-22 season. Solomon, who was hired to settle the St. Bonaventure recruting violation mess left by previous head coach Jan van Breda Kolff, went 24-88 in four seasons, and was fired with two years remaining on his contract.

Former Utah head coach Rick Majerus has been named head coach. Majerus has a 422-147 overall record, with 10 NCAA tournament appearances in his career, including the 1998 Finals, a loss to Kentucky. He resigned for health reasons three seasons ago from Utah, and has since been an ESPN analyst. Previously he had been head coach at Ball State and Marquette, and an assistant with the Milwaukee Bucks.

April 17th
Head coach Brad Soderberg was fired following the school's first 20-win season in almost a decade. In six seasons at Saint Louis, Soderberg went 80-74, including a 20-13 record this season, with two NIT appearances. He was also 16-10 in one season as Wisconsin's head coach in 2000-01.

Gonzaga associate head coach Bill Grier was named head coach. This will be Grier's first head coaching assignment, following 16 years as a Gonzaga assistant.

March 8th
San Diego announced that head coach Brad Holland will not have his contract renewed for next season. Holland, who led the Toreros to an 18-14 record this season, departs after 13 seasons and a 200-176 record and one NCAA Tournament appearance in 2003.

UCLA assistant coach Kerry Keating was named head coach. Keating was an assistant at UCLA under Ben Howland for four seasons, and was previously an assistant at Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Tulsa, Tennessee, Appalachian State, and Seton Hall.

Veteran head coach Dick Davey announced his retirement following the season. In fifteen seasons as head coach (and 15 additional as an assistant), Davey owns a 245-187 record with three 20-win seasons and has taken the Broncos to the NCAA Tournament three times. Davey is in second-place in the all-time WCC victory tally, behind his predecessor, Carroll Williams.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi head coach Ronnie Arrow was hired as head coach. Arrow coached USA from 1988-94, with a 114-93 record and two NCAA tournament appearances. Arrow is credited with building the Islander program from scratch, and he was 134-91 overall with three-straight 20-win seasons. He led TAMU-CC to a 26-8 record and an NCAA appearance this season.

Head coach John Pelphrey accepted the head coaching position at Arkansas. Pelphrey was 80-67 the past five seasons for the Jaguars, including a 44-19 record the last two seasons and a 2006 trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Florida State assistant coach Tim Carter was hired as head coach. Carter has previously been the head coach at Texas-San Antonio, where he took the Roadrunners to two NCAA Tournament appearances and an overall record of 160-152 in 11 seasons.

Head coach Jamal Brown was fired after one season and a 13-17 record. According to a statement, Brown "violated the university's obligations under Title IX and violated several provisions of his employment agreement with the university to include failure to fully cooperate with the university's investigation." Assistant coach Ray Martin will serve as interim head coach.

Former Arkansas head coach Stan Heath was hired as head coach. Heath, who was fired from the Razorbacks last week following an 82-71 record in four seasons, previously coached at Kent State, with a 30-6 record in 2002.

Head coach Robert McCullum was fired following a 4-28 record in two seasons of Big East Conference play. McCullum went 40-76 in four seasons, and 12-18 this year, losing the Bulls' final seven games.

March 13th
Southern Utah hired former Brigham Young coach Roger Reid to fill its head coaching position. Reid has spent the past two seasons at Snow College in Utah, but previously led BYU to a 152-77 record in the early 1990's, including six 20-win seasons and five NCAA Tournament appearances.

March 6th
SUU officials announced that head coach Bill Evans will not have his contract renewed for next season, following a 16-14 record this season. In 15 years with the Thunderbirds, Evans has ammassed a 209-223 overall record with an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2001.

Wichita State head coach Mark Turgeon was hired as head coach. Turgeon led the Shockers to a 128-90 record in seven seasons (17-14 this season), including the 2005 Missouri Valley title and a trip to the Sweet Sixteen.

April 6th
Head coach Billie Gillispie accepted the head coaching position at Kentucky. Gillispie was 70-26 in three seasons with the Aggies, including a 27-7 record and 3-seed in the NCAA Tournament this season.

Former Miami and Tulane head coach Perry Clark was named head coach. Clark, who has been a TV analyst for the past three seasons, previously coached Miami for four seasons, and was fired after the 2003 season. Clark has an overall record of 250-199, including ten seasons at Tulane, and has taken three Tulane and one Miami squad to the NCAA tournament. He also was previously an assistant at Penn State and Georgia Tech.

Former Texas Southern head coach Robert Moreland has been re-hired as interim head coach. Moreland, who was fired in 2001 and currently works in the Texas Southern Provost's Office, coached the Tigers from 1975-76 to 2000-01. Under Moreland, who tallied 399 wins, TSU went to three NCAA Tournaments and seven SWAC regular-season titles in his 26 seasons.

July 19th
Texas Southern fired head coach Ronnie Courtney following a 14-17 (9-9 SWAC) season. In six seasons, Courtney went 77-98, including the 2003 SWAC tournament title and subsequent NCAA Tournament play-in game appearance.

Former Kansas State head coach Jim Wooldridge was named head coach. Wooldridge, who went 83-90 in six seasons for Kansas State, was fired following the 2005-06 season. He previously was a head coach at Central Missouri State, Texas State and Louisiana Tech, as well as a stint as an assistant for the NBA Chicago Bulls under current USC head coach Tim Floyd. He has a has a 312-237 record in 19 years as a head coach.

March 13th
Head coach David Spencer resigned citing health concerns. Spencer had been on medical leave since November, and had been cleared to return to the sidelines, but broke his femur in mid-January, delaying his return. Associate head coach Vonn Webb led the Highlanders to a 7-24 record in the interim.

November 3rd
Head coach David Spencer has been granted a medical leave of absence, effective immediately. Associate head coach Vonn Webb will coach the team on an interim basis.

April 12th
West Virginia assistant coach Matt Brown was named head coach. This is Brown's first head coaching assignment, but he spent ten seasons under new Michigan head coach Jim Beilein, both at West Virginia and Richmond, and previously worked under Billy Donovan at Marshall and Florida.

March 13th
UMKC fired head coach Rich Zvosec following a 12-20 season this year. Zvosec led the 'Roos to a 84-91 record in six seasons. Men's soccer coach Rick Benben will oversee the conditioning and academics of the basketball squad until a successor is found.

Michigan State assistant coach Jim Boylen was hired as head coach. Boylen, a two-year assistant under Tom Izzo at Michigan State, is a veteran NBA assistant, having won two NBA titles under Rudy Tomjonavich for the Houston Rockets.

March 2nd
Head coach Ray Giacoletti resigned effective end-of-season. In three years at Utah, Giacoletti let the Utes to a 54-38 record, including a Sweet Sixteen appearance, but was 11-17 last season. Giacoletti's seven-year contract will be bought out.

Skip Prosser Dino Gaudio
August 8th
Wake Forest assistant coach Dino Gaudio was promoted to head coach to fill the shoes of Skip Prosser, who died unexpectedly two weeks ago. Gaudio, a five-year associate head coach for the Deacons and longtime colleague of Prosser, received a 5-year contract. Gaudio previously coached at Army (36-72) for four seasons and Loyola of Maryland (32-52)for three seasons.

July 26th
Wake Forest head coach Skip Prosser, 56, collapsed while jogging at the university of an apparent heart attack, and was later pronounced dead at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Prosser was 126-68 in six seasons in Winston-Salem. His overall career record was 291-146 in 14 seasons, including seven seasons at Xavier and one at Loyola-Maryland.

Kansas State head coach Bob Huggins accepted the head coaching position at West Virginia. A Morgantown native, Huggins has two degrees from WVU and was an assistant there in the late 1970's. Huggins, who coached Cincinnati for 16 seasons, went 23-12 in his lone season in Manhattan.

April 3rd
Head coach John Beilein resigned to accept the head coaching position at Michigan. Beilein finishes his four-year stay for the Mountaineers with a 104-60 record, with an NIT Championship and two NCAA Tournament appearances.

Winthrop head coach Gregg Marshall was hired has head coach. Marshall, this season's Big South coach of the year, has led the Eagles to seven NCAA Tournament appearances in the past nine seasons. Winthrop went 29-5 this season and defeated Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Marshall was 194-83 overall in his nine seasons.

Winthrop assistant coach Randy Peele was promoted to head coach. Peele had been an assistant for the Eagles for the past four seasons, and previously was the head coach at UNC-Greensboro for four seasons in the late 90's, and also was an assistant at Virginia Tech, Campbell and Tennessee-Martin.

Head coach Gregg Marshall accepted the head coaching position at Wichita State. In nine seasons at the helm of the Eagles, Marshall had a 194-83 overall record, including a 29-5 record this past season. In his nine years, the Eagles advanced to the NCAA Tournament seven times, and this season defeated Notre Dame in the opening round.

Fresno State associate head coach Heath Schroyer was named head coach. Schroyer was at Fresno State for the past two seasons, and previously was the head coach at Portland State under now-Wyoming AD Tom Burman. Schroyer went 35-47 with PSU in three seasons.

March 12th
Wyoming fired head coach Steve McClain following a 17-15 (7-9 Mountain West) campaign. In nine seasons, McClain tallied a record of 157-115, the high point being in 2002 with a 22-9 record and an invitation ot the NCAA Tournament.
