The Jaguars' leading scorer averaged 21.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game and led IUPUI to a 26-7 record. South Region - First Round: No. 3 Stanford destroyed No. 14 Cornell 77-53 as the Big Red didn't have an answer to the Cardinal's defense. Cornell shot 30.5 percent from the field, and nearly half of the Big Red's made baskets were from three-point range, away from the Lopez twins in the middle. Sophomore center Robin Lopez had 14 points, five blocks and four rebounds to help cover for his brother, Brook, who had an off night with only four points. Stanford hit 55.4 percent from the field to help cover up 19 turnovers. The Cardinal will play Marquette in the second round.

No. 4 Pittsburgh stormed past No. 13 Oral Roberts 82-63 to move on to the second round against Michigan State. The Panthers opened up a double-digit lead in the first half by going on an 18-0 run. Junior point guard Levance Fields paced the Panthers with 23 points and seven assists. Oral Roberts couldn't find much room to shoot against Pittsburgh, going 34.4 percent from the field.

No. 5 Michigan State got past No. 12 Temple 72-61 thanks to dominant defensive play and 15 points from sophomore swingman Raymar Morgan. The Spartans overcame a poor shooting performance by senior guard Drew Neitzel, who leads the Spartans with 14.2 points per game. However, Neitzel ran the offense, finding the Spartans' big men on screen and rolls to help blow open a game that the Owls stayed close in during the first 10 minutes.

No. 6 Marquette won a hard-fought battle against No. 11 Kentucky 74-66. Junior guard Jerel McNeal led the Golden Eagles with 20 points. The Wildcats stayed close throughout the entire game, fueled by senior guard Joe Crawford's 35 points. Crawford hit five three-pointers, including big shots in the final minutes to keep Kentucky within striking distance. The Golden Eagles made 21-of-27 free throws to hold off Kentucky. [3/20/08]

Summit League Player of the Year George Hill led the Jaguars with 24 points, including four three-pointers. [3/11/08]

Championship Week 2006 Summit League Tournament Semifinals: No. 1 Oral Roberts needed a big second half to overcome a seven-point halftime deficit against No. 5 IPFW and win 58-42. Senior center Shawn King delivered a double-double for the Golden Eagles with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and junior guard Robert Jarvis led the team with 19 points off the bench. He hit all three of Oral Roberts' three-pointers.

Junior guard George Hill was unstoppable for No. 2 IUPUI, finishing with 32 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals. He led the Jaguars to an 80-65 victory against No. 3 Oakland. IUPUI's solid defense held the Golden Grizzlies to 36.1 percent shooting from the field, while the Jaguars shot better than 50 percent. [3/10/08]

Championship Week 2006 Summit League Tournament Quarterfinals: No. 5 IPFW earned a spot in the semifinals against No. 1 Oral Roberts with a 66-62 win against No. 4 Southern Utah. The Mastodons hit seven three-pointers to the Thunderbirds' two, fueling a comeback win. Senior swingman David Carson led IPFW with 17 points. No. 3 Oakland beat No. 6 Western Illinois 80-66 to move into the semifinals against No. 2 IUPUI. Junior guard Erik Kangas led the Golden Grizzlies with 26 points, including 8-of-8 from the free throw line. Oakland lived at the free throw line all night, making 35-of-55 attempts. No. 2 IUPUI took care of No. 7 Missouri-Kansas City in the quarterfinals, winning 69-65 to move into the semifinals. The Jaguars got 17 points and 10 rebounds from senior swingman Austin Montgomery, and three other players joined him in double figures. [3/08/08]

Hunter Goes Shoeless to Raise Awareness: IUPUI coach Ron Hunter paced the Jaguars' sidelines without shoes during IUPUI's 82-69 win against Oakland Thursday to raise awareness for needy African children. Working with Samaritan's Feet, a Charlotte-based charity, Hunter is collecting 40,000 pairs of shoes to send to children in Africa. Hunter witnessed African poverty when he traveled to Nigeria for a recruiting trip in 2004. As of now, he has more than 30,000 pairs of shoes and hopes to complete the shoe drive by this summer.   Oral Roberts Coach Gets Extension: Oral Roberts gave basketball coach Scott Sutton a seven-year contract extension following four 21-plus win seasons and back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances. Sutton had been mentioned as a candidate to become Wichita State's new head coach, but ultimately re-signed with the Golden Eagles. He's the school's second-winningest coach at 144-102. The school did not release financial terms of the agreement. [4/18/07]

Championship Week 2006 Mid-Continent Conference Championship: Oral Roberts will make its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance after pulling out a 71-67 win over No. 2 Oakland in the Mid-Continent Championship game. With the game tied at 67, Ken Tutt scored the two biggest of his 20 points on a jumper with 33 seconds left to put the Golden Eagles (23-10) ahead, then two free throws with 11 seconds left iced it. The first half was a great back-and-forth between Oral Roberts forward Caleb Green (18 of his game-high 28 points) and Oakland wing Erik Kangas (all 20 of his points on 6-8 shooting from long range), especially on the perimeter, with Oakland leading by 11 at halftime. The Golden Eagles started the second half on a 9-2 run to get back in the game, eventually taking the lead before Oakland would at one point go up by five with over 11 minutes left. Green, who became the Mid-Continent's all-time leading scorer in the game, was the tournament MVP. Vova Severovas led Oakland (19-14) with 22 points and seven rebounds. [3/06/07]

Championship Week 2006 Mid-Continent Conference Semifinals: No. 1 Oral Roberts scored the first 11 points of the game, and No. 4 IUPUI missed its first 11 field goals to set the tone in a 75-54 win for the Golden Eagles. The Jaguars (15-15), who shot just 19 percent from the field in the first half, were led by David Barlow's 16 points.

The Golden Eagles will take on No. 2 Oakland, which battled back from a 12-point second half deficit and made the plays in the final minute for an 83-79 win over No. 6 UMKC. The Kangaroos led the entire way until over eight minutes into the second half, and had a 76-74 lead with under a minute and a half before the Grizzlies scored the next seven points to take the lead and seal it. Derick Nelson scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead five players in double figures for the Grizzlies (19-13), who shot over 61 percent in the second half. UMKC (12-20) also had five players in double figures and was led by Quinton Day with 17 points and seven assists in his final collegiate game. [3/05/07]

IUPUI will play No. 1 Oral Roberts in the semifinals. In the nightcap, No. 6 Missouri - Kansas City delivered the only upset of the quarterfinals.
