It's All Over!!! Michigan State Spartans - 89 Florida Gators - 76
Michigan State wins their first title since the great Magic Johnson - Larry Bird final in 1979. Earlier this year, the Spartans defeated the Gators in football's Citrus Bowl, back on January 1st, 2000, when both teams were Top Ten powers.
FINAL Standings are now posted. The high-scoring game made the Tie Breaker relevant. Note: Prizes will be awarded after a two-day review period. If there are questions regarding final points or final standings, original copies of brackets are on file in the Central Avenue office for review. Congrats to Frank Cowdrey for being the only person in the pool to have the exact combined final score of 165. Estimates ranged from a defensive 92 to an NBA overtime game of 218.

Standings are now posted for Fourth Round action. More upsets have most people looking forward to Baseball, NHL, and NBA Playoffs. Congrats to Jenny Bigos for being the only person in the pool to have North Carolina in the Final Four. Everyone else with teams still alive are putting it all on Michigan State.

We regret to inform you that standings won't be updated until Tueday morning, March 28th, as I am on vacation. Sorry for any inconvenience, and good luck with your picks. Speaking of picks, Vegas, baby, Vegas!

Oh, The Humanity!!! Teams (and Brackets) self-destruct after explosive weekend action. Standings are now posted for Second Round action. After a safe and secure first round, we lost 2 - "1" seeds, 3 - "2" seeds, 3 - "3" seeds, and the defending National Champions - all in two days. Congrats to Michelle Pacione for getting the most picks correct in the Second Round - 10 out of 16. Many people had 9 of 16, but it's pretty sad if we're bragging about that. Weekend results and upcoming games are on the ticker.

First of all, take some aspirin and lots of fluids for that hangover. Standings are now updated for all of the Round One action. There are no more perfect scores, so you can stop visiting Sandbox.com now. Lots of upset bids and overtimes, but it was the least upsetting First Round in years. Trivia: Since the expansion to 64 teams, this season is the first in which all top 5 seed in each region made it out of the first round. It would have been the top six seeds, but Indiana went and blew it. That's going to haunt quite a few people in the later rounds. Lastly, enjoy a great weekend of basketball action. The standings will be updated again for Monday morning.
Friday, March 17 [ 10:29 AM MST ]
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Now go out and drink some green beer. Oh, and check out the new results ticker in the upper left corner. I bet everyone was holding their breath on the Kentucky and St. John's games. Note: Standings are now updated for Thursday's Round One action. Congrats to Chuck Holaday and Jay Todtenbier for being perfect - so far. Didn't mean to jinx it. And we forgive the few scofflaws that didn't get their picks in until just before tip-off. Unless they win, then all bets are off. And lastly, thanks to everyone for making this the biggest office pool in quite a few years. Next year, we'll be automated, I promise. Paperless brackets - it's the wave of the future.
